| jesse harris (of New Ocean Pictures) and i are starting a non-profit national youth film festival called:
the Seattle National Youth Film Festival. (a.k.a. SNYFF)
The mission of the Seattle National Youth Film Festival is to allow young filmmakers from across the country an opportunity to showcase their films to audiences of all ages to receive the crucial feedback and support to grow as filmmakers. The festival will also provide many workshops and panel discussions on various filmmaking principals and useful production experience from industry professionals.
Here's the official site, where you can sign up to be on the mailing list to stay up to date on festival details. (it will be remodeled once the paperwork for both the business and legal stuff is done).
Here's the myspace, if you have a myspace...please add and support us. | | |

| jesse harris is considering possibly attaching his name to my project as an executive producer...this way he can help me get more respect from seattle actors and stuff.
also marty from ImagenFilms has responded and is interested and i sent him the script...and that's all so far.
AND the first day of auditions was yesterday. katie and ilona are my casting assistants. ilona was sick but felt better later in the day so she showed up during the second to last audition. 5 people showed up, but i'd only schedule 4 people, there was a confusing mix up...but it was fine. so the FIRST lady that came was 40s or 50s and just the sweetest lady. she did her monologues, she answered our questions, we answered her questions...and it was great...we want her in the movie, she's soooo nice and dedicated and she doesn't care that a teenager would be directing her. the SECOND girl that came in was 17 and had no past experience but was nice, so we'll keep her on file for extras. the THIRD girl that came in was 15 but acted and appeared older, and was pretty good...she seemed trained for stage not film, but me and katie both felt that with the right direction and a lot of rehearsing she could even be the lead character in the movie, but casting decisions are a long ways away...but she made a good impression. the FOURTH lady i think didn't expect it to be such young people...i think she was expecting college students. so we felt she treated it like a little fun activity as opposed to an actual audition, even though she was pretty good. the FIFTH person..was a female yet again, and she came in and the first thing she said was "oh this is the audition room!?" and we pretty much knew she felt like the next half hour of her life was going to be wasted on children (us), and we knew that we were about to experience 30 minutes of our lives wasted also...but both parties were polite and endured the entire audition. haha. oh well.
and i came home and had 12 emails for people wanting to audition. 1 came from california, 1 from ny, and one from LONDON....i think one of the callboards i posted on didn't say that this was going to be casted and shot in little old bellevue, washington....poop.
next audition date is Jan.7, and every time slot is taken...we're booked from 10AM through 4:30 PM. it's insane. it's good though. but when will i get to eat lunch?

| all right. looks like we will most likely not be able to raise enough money for a low-budget production this coming summer. BUT! we will be able to film on weekends and after school during the school year, the point is, Paint an Arc of Oranges will be made.
it WILL be made. it WILL be as good as it can be given the circumstances. it WILL be true and raw. it WILL be rated R for language.
so casting calls are open. you hear that, spread the word to ALL your friends who are into acting and have afternoons on weekdays off most of the time and who can commit to a project. see www.freewebs.com/laughbanpro for more info click on the "casting calls" link. then contact me through email and we'll set up an audition date.
CASTING CALLS ARE OPEN!!!!
